John has been in the carpet, fabric care, and restoration industry since 1977. He owned his cleaning and restoration business for 16 years before starting his wholesale distribution company that caters to the cleaning and restoration industry. His industry certificates include IICRC Carpet Cleaning Technician, IICRC Upholstery Cleaning Technician, Odor Control Technician, Fire Restoration Technician, IICRC Master Textile Cleaner, Water Restoration Technician, Applied Structural Drying Technician, Master Water Restorer, Master Fire & Smoke Restorer, Color Repair Technician, Health and Safety Technician, Applied Microbial Remediation Technician, and Senior Carpet Inspector.

John achieved IICRC instructor status in the mid-1990s and teaches IICRC certificate courses in Carpet Cleaning Technician, Color Repair Technician, Upholstery & Fabric Cleaning Technician, Repair & Reinstallation Technician, and Senior Carpet Inspector, as well as other specialty CEC courses. He also provides technical assistance for many of his customers that are involved in the Water and Fire Restoration industry.

John has written for trade magazines on a variety of subjects, including color repair theory and advanced techniques. He is still actively involved in color repair and currently travels around the world to provide sidematch color repair solutions.
