Founder of Restoration College in 2001, Pat Dooley pioneered the development of the Applied Structural Drying Course — writing and teaching the very first course ever offered.

Pat remained hands-on himself, having been involved in catastrophic loss management for all major hurricanes in North American since Hurricane Andrew in 1992, including Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Pat has been involved in the restoration industry for 28 years, owning his own restoration company with 8 locations throughout British Columbia Canada. He also worked for Stanley Steemer as the Director of Restoration Development founding the Restoration division and IICRC® training center.

Pat started instructing with Dri-Eaz Products in 1999 teaching the DriZone program which eventually became a The Clean Trust™ certified course known as Applied Structural Drying. He also teaches Fire & Smoke Damage Restoration Technician (FSRT), Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT), Odor Control Technician (OCT), Mold CECs and Advanced Building Drying.

As a voluntary committee member of The Clean Trust™ (previously known as the Institute of Inspection Cleaning & Restoration Certification, or the IICRC®), Pat participated in the rewrite of the new S500 Water Damage Standards section on large loss drying.

Today Pat continues to teach, write articles, manage CAT Losses as well as providing expert witness testimony in legal disputes involving the restoration industry. He is a keynote speaker in many conferences, including the Canadian Adjusters Association, and provides training and consulting to the Insurance industry.
